The very much awaited announcement from Team Evil Geniuses has been released. EG had kept everyone in the SC2 community wondering by launching a website with a timer set of X days, X hours and X minutes countdown of a major announcement. Everyone had their fair share of the guessing game. Finally, the cat has been out of the bag.
Huk will be joining Team EG. This is a very huge announcement as Huk is deemed the best foreigner in the Korean Starcraft 2 gaming scene and being the only foreigner in the Code S. Team Liquid has finally decided to release Huk as his contract has come to expiry. Huk will no longer be in the Team Liquid. The Canadian Protoss player has signed a new contract with EG and will be named EG.Huk
from now on. Huk being the most prominent player representing the foreigner scene decided to signed up with EG. This is rumoured as EG has given Huk a huge and fat paycheck with impressive salary that matched SlayersBoxer. The amount involved isn't being released but we should be expecting something huge for the former team Liquid Star player.
Huk has been probably the most hardworking gamer out there. His insane training schedule in Korea training up to 12 hours a day has been paid off. Winning the Dreamhack and Homestory Cup tournament back to back is no easy feet. Huk's play has evolved so much from his first championship at MLG Raleigh. Now, Huk can even matched the very best SC2 players in Korea such as oGsMC, Nestea, IMLosira, IMMvP and other top tiered players. Within Huk's online game stream, we have watched countless epic games between him and the Korean players. His micro is comparable or even better to the Koreans. Huk has probably the 'Top 3 Micro' in the world.
Leaving Team Liquid has to be sad for Huk. Leaving behind friends and companions such as Jinro, Haypro, TLO, Tyler and all the Liquid Team behind has to be tough. However, nothing can stop this man here from achieving his dream in becoming the best Starcraft 2 gamer in the world. The offered made by EG to Huk is life changing. Huk is placed at the crossroads that could influence the rest of his life. Finally Huk decided what is best to him and accepted EG's offer.
Team EG has recognised Huk as a major Starcraft 2 force and has finally decided to add Huk into their an already great team lineup including the infamous EGIdra the Gracken, Incontrol, Machine, Puma and others. Team Evil Geniuses is one of the oldest North American sponsored multigaming clans with a long gaming history. EG is currently involved in not only Starcraft 2 but other games such as Counterstrike, Quake, World of Warcraft and Street Fighter 4. Team EG is probably the largest team in Starcraft 2 with extremely strong financial backups from large corporations. Team Evil Geniuses has always been known for buying over top players. We have experience this during the transfer or Puma from TSL and EG. Things turned out pretty ugly and bad during the transfer.
Team Liquid has added two players into their line up Sheth and Hero to replace Huk. Both of these players has shown impressive games and are looking to some strong showings in the near future. Sheth
We will be seeing Huk carrying the tag EG.Huk from now on.
Farewell and Good luck EG.Huk!!
