PvP Stopping Cannon Rush

Cannon rush is a very effective strategy on lower leagues. If you want to know how to perform this scroll to my previous post on how to perform it. This video shows you how to stop a cannon rush as a Protoss. A failure to scout a cannon rush means a loss normally for you as it's very very hard to stop once a cannon or two goes up.

Normally you will send your 9th Probe to build a Pylon and then sending him out to scout. Upon reaching your opponents base, this will tell you what your opponent is doing. If you see a forge up, be PREPARED for cannon rush. Quickly scout around your base for the Probe and hidden pylon. Start pulling your mining Probes to attack the Pylon and any upcoming Cannon and sending another two Probes to chase the opponents Probe. So basically 4 Probes on any cannon that starts building, 2 Probes chasing your opponents Probe and Chrono boost out your Zealot. 4 Probes will take down a cannon that is starting to build. Your main point is not to let any cannon go up which surviving till your Zealot is out. If you manage to stop their cannon rush, most of the time your seriously ahead of your income.

If your opponent manage to get up a few cannon at your base, do not give up. You still have the last option of saving up 400 minerals and throw up an expansion at the Gold expo if theres any. You can still climb back from here due to a lot of players thought they already had you with the cannons.

Another way to stop a cannon rush is to build cannons your self. Having your own Cannons up will stop their cannons from creeping to your Nexus. You can also proxy 2 Gateways outside your opponents base and base trade. Try out these strategies any see which works best for you. Good luck!!

I cant find any good videos using the Probe on cannon strategy. This video will show and example of getting an expo up.

Cheers.
