GSL July Finals Code S

Nestea wins his third GSL title beating teammate IMLosira in 4 straight sets claiming yet another title into his already impressive Starcraft 2 game resume. The Zerg President's run in GSL July could not be more perfect without dropping a single game and map throughout the whole tournament. Nestea is the first SC2 player to ever wins 3 GSL titles ahead of other champions such as oGsMC and IMMvP. This is truely a dominating season for Nestea.

Semifinals GSL July Code S Results

The Master and his Apprentice will come face to face in the finals of GSL July Code S. IMNestea will be entering his back to back GSL finals second time in a row since defeating oGsInca last season with ease and claiming the crown. This time around, Nestea's superior run into the finals is even more fascinating with an undefeated record without even dropping a single game to anyone so far going into the finals. Two times GSL Champion Nestea will very most likely to be the first Starcraft 2 player to achieve his 3rd GSL title. Facing against the Zerg president is none other than teammate IMLosira. Often deemed the apprentice of Nestea himself, Losira has shown tremendous improvement since his previous GSL. This winner of Code A, will get his chance to play in his first GSL finals match. A Zerg versus Zerg matchup in GSL July Code S.

Oh my god. oGsMC was taken down by HongUnPrime.we. MC has a 90% win rate in PvP at GSL while HongUn has 0%. But previous records doesn't matter as HongUn proved that he is a very capable player taking the favourite player to win the match, MC. However, it seems that all 3 wins from HongUn came from 4 Gate. Since the patch where WarpGate research timing has been nerfed, however these players (Tassadar in Code A finals) proved that 4 Gate is still the very best strategy in PvP.

Nestea on the other hand doesn't dissapoint by taking down ZenexCoca 3-0 convincingly. The god of Zerg definitely. Nestea will be facing HongUn in the Semifinals of GSL July Code S Next.

IM_nestea Z 3-0 Zenex_Coca Z
oGsMC 1-3 HongUnPrime.we

Round of 16-Day 2 GSL July Code S Results
oGsMC against LiquidHuk is the match that everyone has been looking forward to. Since taking down the Kratoss Protoss or now the ObamaToss at Homestory Cup, LiquidHuk once again came face to face against the fearful MC. Huk has shown tremendous improvement since training in Korea. However, his real improvement came when he was able to practice and train beside oGsMC at the Old Generation Starcraft OGS house. This is when LiquidHuk found his breakthrough able to understand from the minds of the greatest player currently.

Todays match between the two champions involves lots of mind games between the two Protosses. Since the Warp Gate nerf, more options are presented for Protoss players. However, PvP is still considered probably the hardest matchup by Protoss players due to lots of micro and mind games involved. Sometimes you may just lose the game due to build order loss.

MC seems to be the top of his games today since returning from NASL. LiquidHuk on the other hand, chocked a bit and made a huge mistake during his game 2 where both players are 4 Gating each other. Undecided on what to do when seeing MC's army moving across the map, Huk had his forward 3 Stalkers pulled all the way back and not targeting down the Pylon powering 3 Gateways. We all know whats the outcome when this happens. MC took a convincing win 2-0 from Huk avenging his lost to Huk during Homestory Cup.

The match between Zenio and HongUn were class C. Both players were not playing great, but in the end someone has to come on top. HongUn bested Zenio 2-0.

The huge surprise this time is the loss of oGsNada to ZenexByun. The Genius Terran and Brood War legend, Nada was outplayed by Byun. Byun definitely brought his A games today. Bomber from StarTale proved that he is the most fearful Terran in Korea by taking down Polt, the champion of GSL Super Tournament. It seems that Bomber, MC, Nestea and Losira will be the very likely semifinalist candidate this time at GSL Code S July.

Match 1: oGsZenio 0-2 HongUnPrime.we
Match 2: oGsMC 2-0 LiquidHuk
Match 3: oGsNada 0-2 ZenexByun

Round of 32- Day 4 GSL July Code S Results
LiquidHuk cruised through his group with ease by taking down Optimus.Prime (PoltPrime) fashionly with a near perfect game play of 1 Gate expansion with very late scouting using a Stalker and TSL_Killer with a nice 3 Gate Blink Stalkers. PoltPrime being the second player advance in his group after losing to Killer's Dark Templar in Game 1. They meet again to determine who will be advancing into the round of 16, where the match was indeed very close. In the end, Killer's Colossus mismicro ended the game in Polt's favour.

In the dreaded Group G of champions, oGsMC, ST_Bomber, oGsINca and Zenex_Kyrix, Bomber managed to take the first place. In the match between MC and Bomber, Bomber pulled off a one base Cloaked Banshee, Marine, Tanks and SCVs all in against MC's 3 Gateway expand on cross position on Metalopolis. However, Bombers superior Marine count and Cloaked Banshee takes down the two time GSL champion oGsMC. MC is forced to face teammate oGsMC in the losers match, where MC pull off a two prong attack beautifully spreading Inca's Chargelots, Stalkers and Immortals. MC proceeded to take down Kyrix with ease with a 3 VoidRay Phoenix haress.

Do take note, MC will be facing LiquidHuk in the GSL SC2 July Round of 16. This will be their rematch from Homestory Cup where Huk managed to take down MC 3-1. However, the stakes are becoming higher this time at the Korean home soil.

Round of 32- Day 3 GSL July Code S Results
What a day full of Terran vs Terran matchups. In group E, two times GSL Champion IMMvp failed to advance into the round of 16. This is a huge surprise to everyone for Mvp's bad performance today. However, Mvp will be staying in the Code S of next GSL. Another top Terran in Korea, sCfOu one of the favourite Terran currently lost both of his matches today which is a huge disappointment. First loses to MVP in an incredible long TvT strategic game and then losing to Byun. Zenio long time code S player showed an incredible games today. Byun on the other hand although failed to advance showed one of the best Ghost usage in Terran vs Zerg game against Zenio. Ghosts Snipe ability is incredibly powerful against Broodlords and Byun performed it awesomely. I Guess most Terrans will be using more Ghosts in the late game PvZ matchup.

I guess the highlight today is oGsNada's new Terran vs Terran build. Nada used a first time seen TvT strategy to completely wrack Keen in their match today. Using 3 Reapers and SCV for haress, then Hellions and finally Banshee manage to take down the game easily. The Genius Terran showed us why he is one of the world most consistent Starcraft player and probably in the electronic gaming arena. Nada's creative build is one of a kind. Together with Nada advancing to the round of 16 is HongUnPrime.we. Although HongUn's games today were not really impressive, a win is a win.
