10+1 Warp Prism Tips!!

Warp Prism is a very much underused Protoss unit within the Protoss army arsenal. The often forgotten unit is seeing little players by most SC2 professional gamers. However, Whitera seems to be the front runner with his Warp Prism haress strategy and tactics. Watching Whitera in his online game stream proves that the Warp Prism is indeed a very worth unit to be used especially against Zergs and Terrans. Here's some tips on using the Warp Prism.

1. Auto turn into Phasing mode at a Location
Basically you Right Click the Warp Prism to a certain location (especially at the corner edges of your opponent base) and hold SHIFT and press E. This allows the Warp Prism to turn into the Warpin mode automatically at the location. This is best used for haressment and Warping in Dark Templars or when you are busy macroing or microing your units.

2. Do remember to shift right click around the map to avoid detection from the Terran.
Drops is extremely effective when it is unscouted. This is proven by the fearsome Terran drops at multiple locations. Being caught off guard can be game ending most of the time.

3. Warp Prism with Dark Templars
Ahh the invincible Protoss unit with crazy high damage. Currently, in the Protoss vs Terran matchup, majority of the Terrans are walling off the front of their base with Bunkers and Supply Depots. Using Warp Prism allows you to bypass the front wall and start haressing the SCV workers line. You can always pick up your DTs and retreat safely when the Terran's army are charging back.

4. Warp Prism is best used during multiple attack Fronts
Warp Prisms maximum effect derives when there are multiple engagement at the same time. Most players will be focusing at the main fight and without knowledge of their expansion being under siege. Having 2 Warp Prisms at two different locations and warping in units can easily take down the expansion. Try to force engagement at this point to distract the opponents attention and see their expansions evaporate.

Doing a single Warp Prism drop will not do much damage at all. This works the same as Terran Drop ship. Often times, the Terran will be trying to either attack the front and drop at the back of the Protoss's base or vice versa. This is a very strong strategy to be used back against the Terrans.

5. Flying Pylon against Zerg
I cant stress enough how good is this. With a Warp Prism you can instantly warp in units AT your army instead of the forward Pylon. If the Zerg player is spreading his creep well, you have to proxy your Pylon outside of the Creep. Smart Zergs will be aiming to take down the Pylon to cut off your reinforcements.

6. High Templar to Dodge EMP Shockwave by Ghosts
I have not seen much of this being used at the highest level of gaming competition. This is actually a very good way to keep your High Templars safe against Ghost's EMP.

7. Warp Prism High Templar Haress
High Templar with Warp Prism is the perfect haressing tool. Landing 2 Psionic Storms will kill every single worker at the mineral line.

8. Warp Prism with Immortals
This is best used against Roaches. If you have crazy micro skill, you can start picking off every Roach against Zerg players. This is near impossible for most players but it is definitely doable as shown by some of the Korean Protoss players. How this works is, Immortals attack are instant and Roaches attack has the animation of some sort of acid being spitted out towards the target. The Roach damage will only occur when it lands on the unit. Thus, if you are able to pick up the Immortal before the damage land, it will not receive any damage. Thus, you drop the Immortal and pick it up instantly with the Warp Prism.

9. Warp Prism to draw Attention
Instead of using your main army to draw attention, you can use the warp Prism for the same effect. Dropping Warp Prism units into the main base forces the player to pull off some of his army to defend. You can then, engage at the front and Force Field the ramp to keep the army inside his base.

10. Warp Prism Builds
oGsHero has shown one of the most creative builds in the PvT matchup against a fast expanding Terran player by Force Fielding the Terran player outside his base with infinite Force Fields while clearing out the Terrans main base. A warp Prism strategy with 4 Gates. Bringing over 4 Sentries and warping in Zealots and Stalkers while keeping the Terran player outside his base proves to be devastating.

And theres the 4 Gate Warp Prism build that I have posted previously which work extremely well in Close by Air position.

And Finally

10+1. You can elevate your units From low ground to high Ground.
Do take NOTE*. After you have move your army over to the top, you will NOT BE ABLE to elevate them down. You have to move your Warp Prism towards the outer edge and turn into Shift mode again to help elevate your army down.
