GSL Code S RO 8 Day 1: Battle of Starcraft Legends and RESULTS

Today march the first day of GSL Starcraft 2 League top 8 Day 1. 4 Legendary players will be battling it out to secure a spot in the semifinals. oGsMC the legendary Protoss player and winner of GSL 2 takes on HongUnPrime.we a very unpredictable and innovatice Protoss players.

However, two legendary names from the second match of the day will create nerd chills across the Starcraft 2 scene. The legendary ST_JULY, a legend of his own in Starcraft 1 scene. Highly innovative and unpredictable aggressive strategies create a real distinction between July Zerg and other Zerg players. ST_July will be facing another legend of Starcraft 1, oGsNada, the Genius Terran. Nada with his impressive micro and macro multitasking has gained him enormous fame in the Starcraft scene throughout the world.

A very one sided match overall except game 2. Game 1 and 3, ended less than 10 minutes in the game. A four gate from MC on these 2 games easily takes care of HongUn's 2 gas Assimilator build. Set 2 is epic, where the result itself is determine by merely a second difference, where both MC and HongUn were base trading. MC's Blink Stalkers was able to clear out the last proxy Pylon at his starting base before HongUn; as the result will swing to the other player if there was one extra second.

A really epic match series between these two legendary players. You will be guaranteed to hold your breath to the last minute for every set of games in the series. July was able to take two wins for the first two sets with his aggressive Banelings. On the other hand, Nada was able to reclaim the next two sets creating a tie. Everything was on the line for these two players going into the final map on Xel'Naga Caverns. As the dust settles, it appears that ST_July was the clear winner with his impressive Mutalisk haress micro clearly matching his Muta micro from Starcraft 1. A very recommended series from every Starcraft 2 fan.

Thus, oGsMC and ST_July are in the semifinals of GSL 5 Starcraft 2.
