LiquidHuk vs Revival GSL RO 16 Battle Report Insane Game Series

Set 1 Crossfire SE

Revival starts with an early gas pool build while Huk starts with a Gateway Core build. An early Speeding Upgrade from the Zerg player and starts an expansion at his natural. Huk soon puts down 2 additional Gateways into a 3 Gate expansion build. Huk starts to research Hallucination. Hallucinated Phoenixes from Huk scouted Revival’s base without a Spire or Hydralisk Den indicating a Roach heavy build. A large group of Roaches manage to sneak into Huk’s expansion with borrow and the second group of Roaches and Zerglings are able to sandwich Huk’s army from both sides forcing a GG from Huk. A very fast game involving the use of aggressive mass Roaches.

Set 2 Terminus RE

Huk opts for a Forge into expansion opening this game while Revival goes for the safe Gas Pool build. The Zerg player then, throws down an expansion of himself and a Roach Warren. However, Zerg cancels the expansion indicating a mass Roach rush all in strategy which will win the game instantly if Huk is not prepared for this. A group of 9 Roaches and Zerglings soon are knocking infront of Huk’s main base of 2 cannons, 2 Sentries and Zealots. Huk desperately trying to stall the push with Force Fields and Pylons and more Cannons while walling himself in preventing the Zergs army from running in. Finally, Huk managed to hold off the push by a hair when his 4 other Gates are completed. A totally impressive defense from Huk.

Huk pushes out with a group of Stalkers and Sentries towards the Zergs base and soon wins the game as the Zerg is so far behind from the all in 1 base Roach strategy. A really close game as a small mistake may have cost Huk. Very nice Force Field and Pylon walling usage. Recommended game to watch.

Game 3 Shakuras Plateau

The last and final; rubber match game. Huk spawns in the bottom right and Revival on the bottom left. Zerg starts with a Gas Pool build for a 3rd time in a row. Huk instead goes for a Nexus first build at 16/17 without a Forge. Forge soon follows at 17 food for Huk. The Zerg puts down an expansion of his own. Soon a second expansion for Zerg was build at the 10 o clock position. 4 more Gates are built and Hallucination is being researched once again. Revival has a large force of Roaches marching towards Huk; a very similar situation as game one. Soon it is time for Huk to push out with a large army of Stalkers, Sentries and an Observer. Huk is forced to pull back facing a large army of Roaches. Four bases for Revival and 2 bases Huk. Blink for Stalkers is complete. Huk decides it is time to push out from his expansion. Huk managed to reduce the amount of Roaches with nice Force Field usage. However, a large number of Zergling reinforcement once again forced Huk back into his base. Huk is way behind at this point of the game. Some nice Psionic Storm usage kills a large number of burrowed Zerglings.

Huk gives a sigh of relief as he finally able to put down a second expansion and still being in the game. Zerg maxed out with unit composition of Zerglings and Roaches. A higher Spire from the Zerg and a Dark Shrine from the Protoss. Revival breaks the rocks at the north trying to go for Huk’s third expansion but held back by Huk’s main army. Dark Templars and Brood Lords as well as Ultralisk are entering the field. A very nice Feedbacks on the Infestors and Blink focusing down the Brood Lords drags the game further. Huk seems to be crawling his way back into the game that seemed to be over ages ago. Huk’s Immortals are tearing off Zerg’s Ultralisks making mince meat out of them. Finally, the Zerg is starved out over making Ultralisks and Huk takes this crazily close game.

One of the most recommended game currently on GSL 5. A Must Watch. Congratulations to LiquidHuk. A really impressive and close series and qualifying himself a spot in RO 8 Code A GSL 5.
