The Starcraft 2 GSTL May (Global Starcraft 2 Team League) is upon us once again. GSTL is being played after the end season of every GSL (Global Starcraft 2 League) Code S finals. Previous GSTL champions, including clan Slayers and IM will once again aiming to claim the throne for this prestigious team championship. Every Korean professional gamer are fighting for the pride and glory of their clans and being called the best clan in Starcraft 2.
Clan Slayers, Slayer_Boxer's very own clan managed to take down the previous GSTL March having defeated the very strong clan IM Incredible Miracles in the finals. This was considered to be a surprise by the Starcraft 2 community as most people do not expect Slayers to be performing to well throughout the whole GSTL. We managed to see the uprising stars from Slayers clan, Slayers_MMA, Slayers_Ryung (both Terran) and Slayers_Alicia (The ultimate PvT player) performed impressively. These 3 are considered the uprising and top 3 players from Slayers.
This time around, the teams will once again being pitted against each other. We noticed the exclusion of team IM (Incredible Miracles) from GSTL May. This is due to the team having the least team points from the players. GSTL teams are picked based by the number of players from each team in Code S and Code S. Although clan IM has IMNestea the winner of GSL May and IMMvp, the other members of clan IM failed to perform. Only 8 teams are chosen to participate in this tournament. Unfortunately, IM is at the 9th seed team ranking. Team MVP, the new comer of GSTL is currently replacing clan IM for this season.
The formula used for team selection will be:
Total Points = (1.6x + 1y) where
x = number of players in Code S
y = number of players in Code A
